Hardtner – Funeral service for Zechariah “Zech” Sowter will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Hardtner Community Building with Rev. Elizabeth Kirkwood and Rev. Ken Bowden officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Riverside Cemetery northeast of Burlington. Viewing will be Friday 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. with family present 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Zech was born October 16, 1996 at Lawton, the son of Jesus DeLeon and Leona Perkins. He had lived most of his life in the Kiowa - Hardtner area. Zech was a member of Kiowa Southern Baptist Church and was also participating in Hardtner United Methodist Church activities. He was a good student who played football for South Barber School and also sang in the choir. He was well liked by his peers, was able to make light of difficult situations, was family oriented, was laid back yet a mother hen to his brothers and sisters making sure he knew what they were doing. He was especially close to his niece, Lilly.
Those left to cherish Zech’s memory are his mother and step-dad, Leona Congrove and John Clinton of Hardtner; his grandmother, Charlene Burnnet of Stover, Missouri; five brothers, Joshua Armitage, Michael, James and Franklin Sowter and Kevin Congrove; four sisters, Dezeray Sowter, Kiwi and Zilliah Congrove and Sylvia Clinton; many other family members and friends.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home on behalf of the family.
