William "Bart" Fishback

July 8, 1949 — August 16, 2020

Aline, OK

William “Bart” Fay Fishback was born to this life on April 8, 1949 to Raymond John and Laura Bernadine Britting Fishback in Enid.  He went to his heavenly home on August 16, 2020 at his home in Aline.

Bart grew up in Helena and graduated from Helena High School in 1968.  After high school he began working around the Helena area. He worked for Sturgeon’s for a few years before having his own trucks and harvest crew.  His next step in life was driving a truck for Lavicky and driving his own truck at night.  In 1979 Bart met and fell in love with Donna Kay Thomas, and they were married on November 2, 1980.  Together they raised six children.  They moved their family to California where he worked for a time before moving back to Oklahoma.  In 1989 they moved to Montana where he drove a truck moving log homes.  In 1992 they moved back to Oklahoma for good and he began driving trucks for Hamm and Phillips hauling oil rigs.  Besides his family his passion laid behind the wheel of the truck.  He loved everything about being behind the wheel and going down the road.  Those on the road over the CB knew him as “Amos.”  Bart made many life-long friends with his rig moving family.  In 2005 he had his first heart bypass.  The doctor told him he would need to start taking it easier.  Dad didn’t exactly know what that meant.  In 2007 he started working for 412 Dozer driving a rock truck.  In 2010 he had his second heart bypass which eventually lead to his retirement in that same year.    Bart enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his loving wife, his kids and spoiling his grandkids.  He enjoyed baking, making deer jerky, beef jerky and mowing his yard.  He loved westerns on T.V. and had seen almost every John Wayne movie ever made.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna; his parents, and one grandson.

Those life to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Karen Mansfield and Kay Fishback of Graham, Washington; son, Rob and wife, Jennifer of Helena; son, Lloyd and wife, Christy of Helena; daughter, Cassandra of Aline; son, Ray and wife, Amy of Cherokee; daughter, Diandra of Fairview, and daughter, Laura and husband, Trent of Carmen; twenty-four grandkids; numerous cousins, and beloved friends.
