Victor Frangione

Wakita-Victor Rocco Frangione, 92, of Wakita, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016. Vic was born March 21, 1924 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania to Carmen and Mary Palmeri Frangione. He graduated from Ambridge High School in 1943 and attended the University of Wichita on a football scholarship, where he participated in two bowl games. In July 1949 he married Anna Marie Conrady of Wakita, Oklahoma. He was a retired farmer and worked at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and Adams Hardfacing in Wakita, Oklahoma. He served in WWII in the 17th Airborne, 513 Parachute Regiment, 2nd Battalion Company I, where he saw action in the Battle of the Bulge and airborne assault over the Rhine in Operation Varsity.

Vic is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna Marie Conrady Frangione; his son, Ron Frangione and his wife, Malinda of Yukon, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Michael Gray Frangione and fiancee, Stephanie Johnson of Moore, Oklahoma and Marie Dell Frangione of Yukon, Oklahoma; brother, Tony Frangione and sister, Anna Balog.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Mary and one brother, Raymond.

Wake service with remembrance will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church in Wakita, Oklahoma. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church in Wakita. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Clyde, Oklahoma. Viewing will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
