Tammie Wray

June 11, 1959 — September 12, 2019

Tammie Rochelle Robinson Wray was born on June 11, 1959 in Dumas, Texas to P. J. and Lola Robinson and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 12, 2019 at the age of 60.  She graduated Dumas High School before moving to Oklahoma where she later met her spouse and the love of her life, Ronnie Wray.  They took their vows on November 29, 1980 and have been madly in love ever since.  Many people look to their marriage to seek what marriage is all about.  They made their home in Hitchcock where they have resided since that time.

Tammie’s passions were God, family and cooking, in that order.  Anyone who ever met Tammie knew that she loved God.  She always had a smile on her face and taught many people what it meant to love with all of your heart.  She loved to lead the hymns at church and blessed many people with her voice.  She also shared with many children about Jesus through Sunday School classes and Children Times in Worship Service.  Family was so important to Tammie and to Tammie and Ronnie’s union they were blessed with four kids, Brayden Wray of Hitchcock, Phil Wray and his wife, Wendy of Hitchcock, Quintin Wray and his wife, Hailey of Enid and Piper Powell and her husband, Seth of Hitchcock.  She took great joy in recent years getting to spend time with her grandkids, Daxx, Georgia, Wilder, Rekker and was very excited to meet the new grandbaby.  She loved to cook and she was great at it.  She could cook anything you could ever imagine and loved to do it.  This passion for cooking led her to work at Lomega High School as the head cook for fourteen years.  She made many meals for students, family and anyone who needed something to eat.  One thing was for sure, when she cooked everyone was invited to eat because she cooked enough to feed the town.

Tammie is preceded in death by her father, P. J. and her mother, Lola; a brother, Phil; a sister, Linda and other family and friends.

Tammie is survived by her husband, Ronnie; children, Brayden, Phil, Quintin, Piper, Wendy, Hailey and Seth; four grandchildren; siblings, Diana Heckler, Lavanda Locker, Anita Wray, Tony Robinson and Roy Robinson; many nephews and nieces who love her and other family and friends.
