Ringwood-Graveside service for Steve will be Friday May 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Cemetery east and south of Fairview. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Steve was born in Enid on November 4, 1952 to Charley Brinson and Elnora Allen Brinson and passed from this life on May 25, 2020 in Enid. Steve was named after Dwight D. Eisenhower because he was born on the Election Day when Eisenhower was elected president. Steve was a graduate of Ringwood High School. He and Betty Schmidt were married June 11, 1972 and they would have been married 48 years this June. He served in the National Guard for seven years. Steve worked as a salesman in the Oil and Gas Industry and was known as “the honest man” in the oil field. He always did what he said. He lived in the Ringwood area all of his life. Steve was an active member of the Ringwood United Methodist Church, serving on various committees. Steve was president of the Ringwood Watermelon Festival Board for many years, a member of Major County Oil and Gas Association, and a member of the Ringwood Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Elnora Brinson; his brother, Jerry Brinson; brother-in-law, Jim Schmidt; his parents-in-law, David and Vivian Nightengale Schmidt.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; his three children, Lesa Brinson, Matt Brinson and wife, Carrie, and Mendy Brinson; three grandchildren, Gracie, Logan, and Trenton; brothers, Clide Brinson and wife, Roberta, Charley “Junior” Brinson and wife, Billie, Gary Brinson and wife, Glenda; the many Schmidts who were also considered his family; many other relatives, and friends.
Memorials may be given to the Ringwood United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
