Aline-Graveside service for Russell Wayne Richter will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery with Polly Young officiating.
He was born to William Wayne and Marjorie Richter in Hardtner, Kansas on December 25, 1946 and passed from this life on January 28, 2014 in Oklahoma City. Russell lived in the Aline community and graduated from Lambert High School in 1966. He then attended Okmulgee Diesel Mechanics School. From 1965 - 1969 he served in the United States Air Force being stationed in the Philippines for eight months. In 1966 he married Glenda Munger and in 1970 their son, Russell Wayne Richter II was born in Alva. He married Brenda Woodie on January 22, 1977 in Woodward. From this union Zola and Lora became his daughters. The family later moved to Greenville, Texas, where he and Brenda raised and kenneled registered Boer goats and Yorkshire puppies. In 2010 he and Brenda moved back to Aline.
Survivors include his son, Wayne Richter and wife, Dana of Fairview; daughters, Zola Williams of Sherman, Texas and Lora Miller and husband, Royce of Aline; six grandchildren, Cole Richter, Stephen, Rena and Victoria Duncan, Tristan and Blake Miller; his mother, Marjorie Holderby; two sisters, Dianne Phillips and Marsha Kiner; several nieces and one nephew.
Those who preceded Russell in death include his wife, Brenda and his father, William Wayne Richter.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
