TThe funeral service for Rosalie J. Penquite, 82, who died Sunday, January 4, will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Helena Church of Christ with Bill Springer officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Rosalie (Rosie) Joyce Penquite was born February 4, 1932 at Helena, Oklahoma to Lawrence and Mary Rollmann Coleman and passed from this life January 4, 2015 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she has resided since August 2013. Rosalie lived her entire life in Helena where she attended school graduating from Helena High School in 1950. Rosalie attended the Church of Christ and was baptized at age twelve.
Rosalie and Bill R. Penquite were united in marriage on February 14, 1953 at the home of her parents in Helena. They made their home in Helena and were engaged in farming until 1997. During these years, while raising two sons, Rosalie was employed locally at several jobs. Along with being with her family, boating, camping and motorcycling were favorite activities. She always enjoyed her four grandchildren, their dogs, and in later years traveling across the U.S. and Canada.
She is survived by her two sons, Bill and Patricia Penquite of Bartlesville and Mike and Joyce Penquite of Edmond; one grandson, Jonathan and Kara Penquite of Benton, Louisiana; three granddaughters, Melissa and Mitch Wallace of Big Pine Key, Florida, Jennifer Penquite of Edmond and Stephanie Penquite of Moore. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Tanner Wallace of Big Pine Key, Florida and Jackson, Claire and Caitlin Penquite of Benton, Louisiana. She is survived by nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 1999 and her friend, Ernest Rexroat in 2004.
Memorial may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research, Heart, Cancer or Parkinson's Divisions through the Lanman Funeral Home.
