Ronny Pratt

December 12, 1958 — October 8, 2013

Ronny Pratt, 54, of Medford, passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack early Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid. The rosary and remembrance service will be Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., all to be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Medford and officiated by Rev. Carl Janocha. Burial will be at St. Mary Calvary Cemetery north of Medford.

Ronny was born in Medicine Lodge, Kansas on December 12, 1958, the son of Norma Peacock Pratt Miller and Jim Pratt. He attended school in Fairview through his junior year, graduating from Ringwood High School in 1978. Ronny was All-State Football at Ringwood.

Ronny married Cindy Arterburn on December 19, 1986 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Medford. To the marriage, two sons, Cody and Cole, were born. Jesse, Ronny’s son from a previous marriage, lived with Ronny and Cindy for many of his school years.

Ronny’s career was varied from driller, truck driver, compressor and vehicle mechanic. In his earlier years, Ronny worked in the oil field for his father’s company, Jim Pratt Drilling. Ronny and Cindy owned and operated Pratt and Sons, a tire and repair shop, for several years in Medford. Recently, Ronny had been employed by SandRidge Midstream as a lead compressor mechanic. Ronny enjoyed anything to do with fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and the lake. Ronny especially enjoyed time spent with his boys tinkering with anything mechanical. Ronny was a hard and dedicated worker at any job he undertook. Ronny was a friend to everyone and would help anyone at the drop of a hat. No one was a stranger to Ronny. There was only one ‘love of his life’, his wife “Cindy”.

Ronny is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Medford; sons, Cole of Medford/Okmulgee, Cody and wife, Jalynne of Medford, and Jesse and wife, Jayce of Ada; three grandchildren, Matthew, Payten and Emma; mother, Norma Miller of Woodward; father and stepmother, Jim and Jean Pratt of Ringwood; sister, Cindi Shurtz and husband, Wayne of Woodward; stepbrothers, Steve McKnight and wife, Jerri of Coldwater, Kansas, Joe Miller and wife, Leah of Fairview; stepsister, Debby Galvan and husband, Alizar of Kingwood, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peggy and Chip Cooper of Bristow, Albert Taber of Bixby, Bob and Jan Arterburn of Wichita, Kansas, Karen and Carter Junghanns of Jenks, Joan and Randy Kretchmar and Lisa Skrdla, all of Medford; stepsisters, Janice Lemons, and Gail McLain and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
