Ringwood-Funeral service for Roger David Simons, 49, will be Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Center Fellowship in Meno with Pastor Cody Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Square Cedar Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roger was born on June 8, 1965 in Cherokee to Carl Simons and Mary Smith Simons and passed from this life on April 11, 2015 the result of an automobile accident. Roger went to Helena grade school and Ringwood High School, graduating in 1985. During high school, Roger attended Vo-tech, studying diesel mechanics. After high school, he continued attending classes until he became a certified diesel mechanic. Currently he was the shop manager for Lariat Services in Cherokee. He married Wendy Lawrenz in 1990 and children, Bo William Everett and Heather Nichole were born. On September 30, 2006 he married Peggie Sue White in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and daughter, Kaitlin Emily was born. Hunting, fishing and horseback riding were his past times. When he was a little younger, he was also a bull rider. Roger became quite the Dutch oven cook and with others provided Dutch oven cooked food at several Ringwood events. Roger enjoyed showing cattle in high school, and now he has passed down that desire to Kaitlin. He also enjoyed performing with the Garber Community Dinner Theatre.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Simons.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggie of Ringwood; his three children, Bo and Heather of Enid and Kaitlin of Ringwood; his father, Carl of Ringwood; his sisters, Carlene Cunningham and husband, Robert of Carmen and JoAnn Belvin of Ringwood; brother-in-law, Lindy White of Sapulpa; sister-in-law, Kay White Barnes and husband, Don of St. Louis, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be given to Faith Center Fellowship or the Ringwood Ag Booster Club through the funeral home.
