Ringwood-Ricky Joe Jeffries was born July 28, 1955 in Enid, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on May 6, 2014 at the age of 58. Rick grew up in Enid and on a family farm between Ringwood and Cleo Springs. He attended school in Enid and at Aline-Cleo High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force in the jet engine mechanics division.
On September 3, 1976 he married Susan Schaper in Cleo Springs and they made their home in Cleo Springs and most recently lived on the family farm where he grew up. He worked many years in the oilfield industry and worked with cattle at times. Rick and Susan raised three sons: Jeremy, Levi and Zach.
Rick enjoyed nothing better than going to Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts with as many of his children as he could talk into going. He also spent many days on the seat of a motorcycle and he tried to "Enjoy the Journey." But, more than attending all the concerts in the world or riding his Harley anywhere, he wanted to be a Grandpa, or "Old Man." His three sons and three grandsons were all his world.
Rick is survived by his mother, Neva; two sisters, Jan and Marcy; wife, Susan; three sons and families, Jeremy and Angela, Levi and Amanda along with grandsons, William and Nathan, and Zach and Laci and grandson, Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Jeffries.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cleo Springs Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jim Burggraf officiating. Burial will be in Square Cedar Cemetery near Cleo Springs. Viewing will be Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family present.
