KIOWA-Ramonia Jean Stratton Ramsey, 78, passed away on May 19, 2013 at the Kiowa Manor. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Riverside Church of Christ in Burlington, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Hardtner-Elwood Cemetery.
Ramonia was born on July 4, 1934 at Sun City, Kansas to Parker E. Stratton and Emma Shellenberger Stratton. On May 15, 1952 she and Lawrence Ramsey were united in marriage and to this union four children were born. She moved to Kiowa from Putnam, Oklahoma more than 60 years ago. She attended the Riverside Church of Christ in Burlington for many years.
She was preceded in death her parents; husband, Lawrence; son, David Ramsey; sister, Iris Hunt; brother, Alfred Stratton; two great grandsons, Jaun Cox and Jaden Duvall.
She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Corr of Kiowa, Debra Duvall of Kiowa and Darla Marin of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Nelvis Stratton of Bakersfield, California; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and given to the funeral home.
Viewing will be at the church before the service.
