Phyllis Dixon

Medford-Funeral service for Phyllis Dixon will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Medford. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Phyllis was born November 11, 1920 at Hillsdale, the oldest daughter of ten children born to Tobe and Minnie Unruh. She grew up in Enid, attended Enid schools and graduated from Enid High School. After she and Ersel Dixon, Sr. were married in Enid on March 25, 1943, they lived on a farm near Medford. Then in 1959 they moved into Medford. Phyllis was a wonderful seamstress who made all of Jaynell's clothing and also did sewing for others. She did needlepoint and embroidery and was a wonderful cook. She was a lady who avidly read and studied her bible when she could no longer work with her hands. She was a member of Medford Mennonite Church but had attended Medford First Baptist Church for many years.

Those who have preceded her in death are her parents, Tobe and Minnie Unruh; her husband, Ersel Unruh, Sr.; two brothers, Edwin Unruh and Elmer and wife, Frances Unruh; one sister-in-law, Melva Unruh; two brothers-in-law, Edward Dunn and Johnny Friesen.

Those who survive are her two children, Ersel Dixon, Jr. and Jaynell Hall and husband, Bill; two grandchildren, Chad Hall and wife, Robyn, Jeremy Hall and wife, Christie; seven great-grandchildren, Austun, Kyle and Morgan Hall, Garner, Grayson, Gage and Grady Hall; two sisters, Viola Friesen and Lily Dunn; one sister-in-law, Maurene Unruh; five brothers, Bob Unruh; Leslie Unruh and wife, Mary Ann, Claude Unruh and wife, Ann, Gerald Unruh and wife, Norma and Bill Unruh and wife, Donna; many other relatives.

Memorials may be made to Medford First Baptist Church or Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
