Bixby- Philip Dean Farguson was born on July 18, 1938 in Cherokee to Earl Farguson and Blanche Morris Farguson and passed from this life on July 17, 2013 in Tulsa at the age of 74. He was raised in Helena, where his dad, Earl was a farmer and his mother, Blanche was a homemaker. He graduated from Helena High School in 1956, where Philip was a basketball player. Philip served in the U.S. Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. He achieved a Bachelor’s degree at Northwestern Oklahoma State College in Alva and worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a civil engineer/surveyor. He resided in Arcadia until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid sports fan and was a race car enthusiast. Philip was an avid OU Sooner fan and a Dallas Cowboys football fan. He loved country music and played the banjo.
Survivors include his daughter, Shawn Parker of Bixby and two granddaughters, Sophia Parker of Bixby and Chelsea Farguson.
Those who preceded Philip in death include his parents; his sister, Patricia A. Owens and his son, Kane A. Farguson.
Philip Dean Farguson was buried at Good Hope Cemetery on Sunday, July 21, 2013.
