Pauline Ellen Lumpkin Wetz, age 92, long-time resident of Kiowa, Kansas and recent resident of Mission, Kansas passed from this life on September 13, 2015. She was born in Smith County, Kansas and married Edward Wetz in 1946. She obtained a degree in Nursing and was later certified as one of Kansas' first nurse clinicians. Pauline worked at Kiowa District Hospital and Kiowa District Manor. Her interests included basket weaving, silversmithing, antique restoration, beading, her church and Eastern Star.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; daughter, Luann; parents, Frank and Ruby Lumpkin and brother, Kent Lumpkin.
She is survived by her children, Mark Wetz and wife, Celine, Greg Wetz and Lora Blaser and husband, Robert; son-in-law, Jack Cooper; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration be given to the Kiowa Congregational Church, Friends of Kiowa District Hospital and Manor Foundation, Inc. or Kansas City Hospice House through the funeral home.
Memorial service of joyful celebration of a long and full-filling life for Pauline will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Kiowa Congregational Church with Pastor Bud Ruggia officiating.
