Nola Wiedman

September 13, 1924 — December 9, 2016

Kiowa, Kansas-Nola Yvonne Wiedman was born on September 13, 1924 to Edna and Gus Scott in Andover, Kansas. She was the oldest of eight children born to the Scotts. She graduated from Andover High School in 1942 and went to work at Sessna Aircraft factory until the war ended. Nola married Charles August Wiedman July 16, 1950. She then moved to Kiowa, Kansas where she lived until her death on December 9, 2016. Nola worked as a bookkeeper in Kiowa for a number of years and kept books for her husband’s welding shop. She was involved in the Congregational Church and Pilgrim Daughters. Nola was always kind and helpful to friends and family. As one family member put it, “If you needed something she was always there - - and brought food.”

Nola is survived by Beck and George Cole, her daughter and husband. She is also survived by brothers, Glenn Scott and Buss Scott from the Wichita area; sister, Donna Schmitz of Andale; twenty-three nieces and nephews and numerous cousins in the Wichita area.

Those preceding her in death include her mother; father; three sisters and one brother.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Kiowa. Memorials may be given to Victory in the Valley or the Congregational Church in Kiowa
