Milferd Schupbach was born in Burlington, Oklahoma on July 11, 1922, the son of Sam and Rose Frieden Schupbach and died peacefully at Kiowa District Hospital on June 12, 2022. He attended Burlington Schools, graduating in 1940. In 1942 he volunteered, joined the Air Force (Army Air Corp), and was stationed in the United States and Guam in the South Pacific. After he was discharged in 1946 he farmed until 1986 when he retired.
In 1949 Milferd and Elna Mae Rathjen from Enid, Oklahoma were married at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma. After he retired from farming, Milferd prepared and refinished furniture for himself and others. He also did yard work and growing flowers. He fished from the time his grandfather used to take him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Rose; his wife, Elna Mae; brothers, Richard and Leon, and sisters, Doris and Nelda.
Milferd is survived by his children, Tom and Sherry Schupbach and Peggy and David Dowell; grandchildren, Bradley and Summer, Samuel and Niki, Randall and Mycheille; eight great grandchildren and his sister, Shirley Nelson.
Graveside service for Milferd will be Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Cemetery near Burlington. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa. Viewing will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
