Medford-Cherokee-Mary E. Shoup, 65, a longtime resident of Cherokee died February 6, 2013. A memorial service will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home Inc. Chapel in Cherokee.
Mary was born on February 3, 1948 to Sam and Mary Zahorsky. She attended Cherokee High School. In 1965 Mary was married to Chuck Coulter Sr. They had three boys, Chuck, Kenny and Danny. Later in the 1970’s she married Mike Shoup. Mary was employed for twelve years by Alfalfa County Sheriff’s office. Mary loved her job, being with family and friends, playing bingo and slots.
She is preceded in death by her Mom and Dad; sister, Carolyn Furrow and nephew, Nickals Sanborn.
She is survived by her four sons, Chuck of Purcell, Kenny of Enid, Danny of Cleo Springs and Rod Shoup of Oklahoma City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Lonnie Beckwith of Cherokee, Dale Beckwith of Tulsa; several nieces and nephews; other family; close friends, plus her loving companions, Haus and Sissy, who will miss her dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials may be given to OMRF – Heart Division through the funeral home.
