Driftwood-Service for Marty Martin will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Burlington School Auditorium Max Boothby officiating. Burial will follow at Driftwood Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marty was born on June 11, 1951 to Joseph Martin and Mary Lou Forbes Martin in Cherokee and passed from this life on March 15, 2014 in Enid. He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1971. Marty married Fawnda McGuire on April 3, 1988. He had lived in the Cherokee area all of his life. For Burlington Schools Marty drove the school bus and did school maintenance. He was a jack of all trades, including hay hauling and carpentering.
His survivors include his wife, Fawnda Martin; his children, Patrick Joe Martin, Brock DeWayne Martin and wife, Tambra and Derek Lee Martin; his mother, Mary Lou Martin; one brother, Rick Martin and wife, Susan; one sister, Judy Martin; five grandchildren, Keianna Marie Martin, Kyler Gage Martin, Brycelyn Ann Martin, Stetson TI Gavin Martin and in July, Haylee Anne Martin.
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Joe Martin.
Memorials may be given to Burlington Educational Fund through the funeral home.
