Marinelle Reese

November 22, 1953 — January 29, 2013

Medford-On Tuesday, January 29, 2013 Marinelle Lynn Boyer Reese passed away in her mother’s home with her family by her side after a yearlong battle with leukemia. Marinelle was born November 22, 1953 in Fort Ord, California to Adeline and J.T. Boyer while her father was in the Army. She has a younger sister, Tanya Flauding of Blackwell. She spent her childhood in California, Germany, France, Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Lewis, Washington and Medford. She graduated from Medford High School in 1971 and then attended Northwestern State University. She married David W. Reese July 5, 1974 in Las Vegas. The couple moved to Watertown, New York, David’s home town, to raise their family. They welcomed their first son, Ryan David on February 1, 1979 and another son, Matthew Edward on October 7, 1980. Upon hearing the news of her death, her ex husband, David shared that she was the kindest person and best mother he has ever seen. Marinelle worked as a travel agent for AAA in Watertown, New York and loved to travel and most of all she loved her boys. She moved to Kernesrville, North Carolina to live with her son, Matthew and his wife, Kim upon the birth of her first grandchild, Samantha. They later moved to East Sandwich, Massachusetts, where she was treated for her leukemia. While there Marinelle lost her son, Matthew unexpectedly August 22, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her father, J.T. Boyer in 1977. She moved back to Medford in November 2012 to recover with her family. However, the cancer came back aggressively, and she decided she did not want to go through chemo again. She told us she was ready to go and wanted to be with her family in heaven.

She is survived by her mother, Adeline Petrik Boyer and Ted Moore of Medford; her son, Ryan D. Reese and his wife, Heather and their son, Emerson of Eugene, Oregon; her daughter-in-law, Kim Reese and granddaughter, Samantha of Loweville, New York and her sister, Tanya Flauding and her husband, Richard of Blackwell; their daughter, Bridget Flauding Bryan and husband, James of Tulsa and many other beloved aunts and uncles.

Marinelle was a wonderful, loving woman who touched so many lives. She loved to cook, travel and take care of others, especially her boys. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She requested that there be no services held for her. If anyone would like to call on her mother, Adeline Boyer, at 309 S 7th Street in Medford, your love and support would be deeply appreciated.
