Margaret Oney

Okeene-Funeral service for Margaret Ann Oney, 83, will be Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Okeene United Methodist Church with Rev. Margaret was born on September 30, 1934 to Earl Dalsing and Wilda Mae Duckworth Dalsing in Sedan County, Kansas and passed from this life on March 8, 2018 in Okeene.  Margaret married Carl Oney on December 24, 1956 in Pampa, Texas.  To this union three children were born: Richard, James and Brenda.  Margaret and Carl worked in Pampa, Texas, then moved to Yukon and in 1980 moved to Okeene.  Margaret was a member of the Okeene United Methodist Church.  She was an excellent seamstress, winning many ribbons at county fairs and Whea Esta.  She took great joy in making banners for the church and making quilts for all family members.  Margaret was also a great cook and was Brenda’s caregiver all of her life.

Those preceding Margaret in death include her husband, Carl; her parents, Earl and Wilda Dalsing; two grandsons, Matthew Scott and Justin Wayne; one sister, Wilma Nickl and one brother, Gene Dalsing.

Survivors include her children, Richard Oney of Banquete, Texas, James Oney of Ozark, Missouri and Brenda Oney of Okeene; three grandchildren, Tana Oney, Jim Oney and Amanda Oney; five great grandchildren and one sister, Phyllis Adams and husband, Chuck of Peoria, Arizona.

Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
