Marcella Vivian Swiggett

Marcella Vivian Swiggett, 95, died at her residence on August 8, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee.  Marcella was born on December 14, 1922 in Bryon, Oklahoma to her parents, Ed and Retta Riley.  She was the sixth of seven children.

Marcella graduated from Cherokee High School in 1940 and married Guy Leslie Swiggett that same year. They had three children: Leslie Dean, Ann Laree and Richard Lee Swiggett. During her life she mostly lived in and around Cherokee and Enid Oklahoma before moving to Nashville.  Marcella loved to sew and was a master quilter.

Mrs. Swiggett is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and John Cummings of Nashville, Tennessee; her sister, Grace DeVore; daughter in law, Kelli Ann Swiggett and six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her sisters, Martha King, Opal Case and Lenora Price; her brothers Harold Riley and Orie Riley; her sons, Leslie Dean and Richard Lee Swiggett.

The funeral for Marcella will be on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Cherokee. Burial will follow at Byron-Amorita Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.
