Lynette Major

Lynette Helen Shafer Major was born on February 7, 1932, in Fairview to Lynn and Juanita Shafer and passed from this life on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Enid. She and Willy Major were married December 15, 1948, in St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Enid and they had two sons, Ronald Major and Leon Major. They moved from Enid to Ringwood and had lived in Ringwood for 44 years.

 Lynette was in the Pep Club and Music Club while in school and was also a Rainbow Girl. She was football queen candidate her Freshman and Sophomore years. While living in Fairview and Ringwood, Lynette was part of the activities of the Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir in Fairview and was a member of the United Methodist Women in Ringwood. Other things that were important to Lynette were playing bridge and traveling.

 Those who preceded her in death are her parents, Lynn and Juanita Shafer; her husband, Willy; her son, Leon; great-granddaughter, Destiny Salinia; her sister, Betty Moody. 

 Survivors include her son, Ronald Major and wife, Debbie; daughter-in-law, Joy Major; grandchildren, Marion Major, Ronald Major II, Shawnna Salinia and Cory Major; great-grandchildren, Justin Mitchell, Shawnn Salinia, Isaac Major, Chloe Major and Shelby Major; other relatives and friends.

 Funeral service for Lynette will be Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Ringwood New Beginnings Wesleyan Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be Tuesday, August 27, 2024 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Helena. In lieu of flowers Lynette’s family suggests memorials be made to Ringwood Sports Boosters or Crossroads Community Church Building Fund through the funeral home.
