Loretta Karen Campbell

January 13, 1957 — July 12, 2024

Ringwood, Oklahoma

Loretta Karen Campbell was born January 13, 1957 in Enid, Oklahoma to Loren and Virginia Clow and passed away at her home on July 12, 2024.

She lived in the Ringwood area all of her life. She attended Ringwood Public Schools K-12. In the sixth grade, she met her soon to be love of her life, Steve Campbell. They became childhood sweethearts in the eighth grade and began a love that would last a lifetime. After graduation, she married her best friend on May 30, 1975 and life truly began. Steve and Loretta had two children, Angie Kaye and Brent Lane. Loretta was a homemaker until she chose to join the workforce and returned to Ringwood Public Schools. She started out as a library aid and made her way to a secretarial position. Loretta worked at Ringwood Public Schools for twenty-eight years before retiring in May 2023. The elementary school library was named “The Loretta Campbell Library” to honor her for her selfless service and dedication shown to Ringwood Public Schools and all the children she loved over the years.

Loretta happily transitioned to life as a grandmother to Kynlee, Kolson, Haddie, Ruby, Judson, Parker, Justin and Julia. They were her greatest treasures, and she loved watching them perform, play basketball, softball, or anything they were involved in. Her absolute favorite time was having all of her “Little Chickies” at her house. She could be found sitting outside visiting, cooking a big meal, playing a fierce game of UNO or just sitting around the table laughing and telling stories. These moments brought her pure joy.

Loretta was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Lahoma. She and Steve joined the church in the early 90’s and she was the pastor’s wife from 1996 to 2022. Loretta served faithfully as part of the church for the rest of her life. She was known as a woman of faith and prayer and was a dedicated Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Director and led numerous women’s Bible studies.

The family takes heart knowing Loretta is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Virginia Clow and siblings, Irene, John, and Konda, and nieces, Cheryll and Gayla Phipps.

Loretta is survived by her best friend and husband, Steve Campbell of Ringwood; daughter, Angie Young and husband, Luke and grandchildren, Kynlee, Kolson, Parker, Justin, and Julia of Guthrie; son, Brent Campbell and wife, Jade and grandchildren, Haddie, Ruby, and Judson of Ringwood; brother, Larry Muzingo and wife, Nora of Yukon; niece, Phyliss Norris of Mustang; nephew, Justin Clow of Woodward; niece, Kelli ‘Clow’ Greenwood of Little Rock, Arkansas, and numerous other family members.
