Linda Lou Highfill Lovelady
August 18, 1940 - January 11, 2023
Linda Lou Lovelady was born August 18, 1940 in Cherokee. She was the oldest of two daughters born to John Highfill and Evelyn Clark Highfill and passed from this life on January 11, 2023 in Fairview. She grew up on a farm near Lambert, where she graduated from Lambert High School in 1958. Linda told her mother she never wanted to live on a farm again. Later that year she married Neal Weber and from this marriage one son, Mark Weber, was born. In 1974 she married Warren Lovelady, who preceded Linda in death in 2012. From this marriage she gained four step-children. Linda and Warren lived in Enid until 1988, when they bought a farm in Major County. Her mother always told her not to use the word “never”; however she traded “gubo mud” from her childhood days for “sandy mud” near Ringwood. She continued to live on the farm after the passing of Warren. She was able to do so thanks to the excellent care of her friend, Lety and help from Lety’s husband, Mr. Lucas. She enjoyed a group of ladies from Ringwood. They would eat together at least three times a week. Linda retired three times before finally retiring in 2010 at the age of 70. She retired after 25 years from the Department of Human Services in Enid. Following that retirement, she worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Fairview and Meno Guaranty Bank in Meno. She was a member of Ames Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for over 30 years.
She leaves behind her son, Mark Weber and wife, Donna of Shawnee; a sister, Carol Ann Pierson and husband, Duane of Texas; a grandson, Shawn Weber of Shawnee; four step-children and their families, Mick of Colorado, Terry of Kansas, Tammy and TJ, both of Texas.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents, John and Evelyn Highfill, and one stillborn child, Kimberly Ann.
