Leon Enterline, a beloved cowboy, devoted family man, and treasured member of the Nash community, passed away on September 23, 2024 at the age of 89. Born on May 25, 1935, in Nash, Leon dedicated his entire life to the cowboy lifestyle, embodying the spirit of the West through his love for horses and the camaraderie of the community.

From a young age, he was deeply involved in the cowboy culture, participating in various activities such as the wagon train, cowboy church, and the Quarter Horse Association. Leon's passion for rodeo was exemplified by his cherished tradition of attending the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, a highlight of his annual calendar. His commitment to the cowboy way of life was recognized when he had the honor of serving as the grand marshal of the 2015 Great Salt Plains Stampede Rodeo parade, a moment that reflected the respect and admiration he earned in the rodeo community.

Leon found immense joy in supporting his family, always present at his grandkids' and great grandkids' sporting events. His genuine interest in others made him a beloved figure; he never met a stranger and had the unique ability to walk into a room filled with unfamiliar faces and leave with newfound friendships. His warm spirit and engaging personality will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Leon also worked at many local sale barns, with the Cherokee Sale Barn being where he worked the longest.

He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Thomas; son-in-law, Tony Wiens; grandchildren Leasha and Jeff Aebi, Heath and Chelsea Thomas, Anthony Wiens, Kylee and Cody Taylor; and great-grandchildren Maddux and Madyson Aebi, Henzley, Bodey, Lenora, and Hudson Thomas, and Michael Taylor. Leon is also survived by his brothers-in-law, John Walborn and Richard Polson, and sisters-in-law Betty Blackburn, Mary Hess, and Florence Williams, and Ellen Walborn.

Leon is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lenora Enterline; his daughter, Shelly Wiens; his brother, Leroy Gene Enterline; and his parents.

As the community comes together to cherish his memory and share stories of adventures past, Leon Enterline leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and the cowboy way of life. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.

Graveside service for Leon will be Friday September 27, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at New Home Cemetery near Nash. There will be a horse drawn wagon procession from Leons house to the Cemetery starting at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.

Memorials may be made to the Nash Christian Church.
