Leah Hoffman, resident of the Kiowa Manor, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the presence of her loving family. Leah was born on September 7, 1924 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Johann and Susanna Grauberger. They were German-Russians who immigrated to the United States in 1912. They had thirteen children and Leah was their seventh child. She married Theodore Simpson in December, 1944 and they had three children, Harold (Carol) Simpson of Centennial, Colorado; Charlene Lawson of Kiowa, Kansas; Les (Beverly) Simpson of Houston, Texas. Theodore passed away in 1951 and Leah met and married Arthur Hoffman of Hazelton, Kansas in 1953. Leah, Arthur and the three children lived on a farm west of Hazelton. In 1966 Arthur and Leah moved to their retirement home in Tucson, Arizona where they enjoyed many happy years. Arthur passed away in 1999 and Leah remained in Tucson until moving to the Kiowa Manor in February, 2014.
Leah is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed the outdoors and oil painting, becoming an accomplished artist of outdoor scenery.
Graveside service for Leah will be held at the Rosehill Cemetery in Hazelton, Kansas on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.Visits: 15
