Lawrence Hague

January 26, 1925 — September 1, 2016

Cherokee-Funeral service for J. Lawrence Hague, 91, will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Cherokee First United Methodist Church with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

He was born January 26, 1925 in Ingersoll, Oklahoma to Lyle and Helen Hague. He died Thursday, September 1, 2016. On February 12, 1944 he married Velma Martin. They lived in Cherokee. He was a member of Cherokee First United Methodist Church, Perpetual Member of Corinthians Lodge 307 and Perpetual Member of Guthrie Scottish Rite 32nd degree. He was a lifelong supporter of 4-H and FFA. Lawrence had a long career in farming, crop insurance and real estate.

He was preceded in death by a son, Neal in 1966 and his wife, Velma Pearl Martin in 2002.

Surviving are two sons, Jay Hague of Cherokee and Mark Hague and wife, Danette of Drummond; five grandchildren, Tammy Schafer and husband, Todd of Goodhue, Minnesota, Brent Hague and wife, Tinia of Edmond, Marcie Mack and husband, Curtis of Drummond, Reggie Hague of Cherokee and Kirsten Pruett and husband, Lane of Burlington; thirteen great grandchildren, Tyler, Trent and Travis Schafer, Clayton, McCandren, Caitlyn, Connor Mack, Braden, Bryant, Britt, Brody Hague, Slade Hague, Kayli and Kaden Pruett.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Alfalfa County 4-H.
