Medford – Rosary for Genevieve LaVon Blubaugh, 79, will be Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Medford and Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Carl William Janocha officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery Clyde, Oklahoma. Viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

LaVon was born on July 2, 1933 to Laverne Frisk and Genevieve Zelenka Frisk south of Kremlin and passed from this life on March 18, 2013 in Enid. LaVon attended and graduated from Enid High School. After graduation, she worked for Chaplin Oil Company in Enid. On August 13, 1955 LaVon married Donald John Blubaugh. In 1959 they moved to Medford, where they continued to live. LaVon was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Busy Mom’s. She was the secretary of St. Mary Catholic Church for 40 years. LaVon and Don were faithful followers of their children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. LaVon loved flowers and enjoyed sitting on her back porch looking at her flower garden. She was also a fan of WWE wrestling and would watch it every Monday and Friday evenings.

Those who preceded LaVon in death include her parents, Laverne and Genevieve Frisk; an infant brother and daughter, Lori Bowman.

Survivors include her husband, Don Blubaugh of Medford; one son, Jay Blubaugh and wife, Karen of Medford; six grandchildren, Samantha, Shelby, Claire and Chloe Blubaugh of Medford, Heather Gottsch and husband, Aaron and Tanner Bowman of Cherokee; two great grandchildren, Raegan and Eden Gottsch of Cherokee; son-in-law, Don Bowman of Cherokee; one brother, Jerry Frisk and wife, Bobbie of Oklahoma City; one niece, Tamara Lorson and husband, Joe of Phoenix, Arizona; nephew, David Frisk and wife, Lorrie of Midwest City.

Memorials may be given to Lori Bowman Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
