Helena-Funeral service for Larry Pettus will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Helena United Methodist Church with Rev. Vera Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Viewing will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday with family present from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Larry Ray Pettus, 67, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was born on June 5, 1946 to L.W. and Lois Pettus. He attended and graduated from Helena Public School in 1964. He married Cheryl Darlene Hedrick on July 23, 1967.
Larry retired from the Helena Co-op in 2008 after forty years of service. He also retired from the Helena Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He was a member of the Helena United Methodist Church. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved going hunting and fishing with his sons and grandkids. He also loved going camping at the lake and running around to all of his grandkids' ball games. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family very much.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Helena; three sons, Mark and wife, Michelle of Enid, Todd and wife, Chelsey of Fairview, Jason and wife, Tina of Alva; eight grandchildren, Landon, Taylor, Hadley, Megan, Mayson, Mattie, Kaden and Kacie; three great-grandchildren, Marlee, Lydia and Braxton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be given to the Helena United Methodist Church Building Fund through the funeral home.
