Graveside service for Lannie Dale Morris will be Friday, January 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Ames Cemetery near Ames. Viewing will be Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home in Cherokee. He was born on August 20, 1950 in Texas to Theodore and Marcia Morris and passed away on January 6, 2020 in Cherokee. Lannie grew up In Texas where he attended elementary and high school. After graduation he joined the Army and got married. When he was discharged from the Army he moved to Mississippi and went to the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a support of Rainbows, NRA and was founding member of the Nerd Herd. Lannie enjoyed spending his time hunting, cooking and playing dungeons and dragons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Marcia Morris; ex-wife, Lila Morris; best friend, Dale Oringderff; grandson, Elijah Morris and baby sister, Linda Morris.
He is survived by four brothers, Erwin Morris, Steve Morris, Tim Morris and Sandy Morris; one sister, Rita Morris; four children, Lonnie Morris and wife, Debra, Heather Morris, Joseph Morris and wife, Rene and Amanda Arnold and husband, Daniel; seventeen grandchildren, Amber Johnson and husband, Chad, Autumn Vandusen and husband, Elijah, Ariel White, Elizabeth Fletcher, Tyler Fletcher, Payton Stephens, Annika Arnold, Kasie Oringderff, Zoey Morris, Weston Morris, Merliah Morris, Chandler Buller, Dymond Morris, Malakai Arnold, Grayson Arnold, Jason Bence and Leslie Chandler and husband, Aaron and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home on behalf of the family.
