Enid-Funeral service for Joyce Ann Hassler, 63, will be Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Bible Church east and south of Lahoma. Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery south of Helena with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be at Community Bible Church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Joyce Ann Hassler was born on February 28, 1950 in Enid to Eugene Everett Walker and Matilda Harrison Walker and passed from this life on March 12, 2013 in Enid. Joyce married Michael Hassler on August 22, 1971 in Helena and graduated from Phillips University in 1972. Michael and Joyce have one son, Mitchell. The family moved back to this area in May of 2012. She was active in Gideon’s International Auxiliary over twenty-two years, serving in most all of the local camp offices. She was Area Prayer and Personal Witness Program Assistant, Area Director and State Membership Coordinator. Joyce was also active in the VFW Auxiliary, where she served as President as her last duty assignment. She was a certified substance abuse counselor with Almond Tree Ministries. Joyce was also active in Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Joyce served diligently at Fist Baptist Chuch of Greensburg, Indiana. She was Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, was on church Board of Education was on the Board of Deaconess. She was a supervisor and eligibility consultant with the Division of Family Services with the State of Indiana.
Those left to cherish Joyce’s memory include her husband, Michael of Enid; one son, Mitchell of Lawton; one brother, Ray Walker of Helena and one granddaughter, Persaias.
Joyce’s parents, Eugene and Matilda Walker and her sister, Carol preceded her in death.
Memorials may be given to Gideon’s International or Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
