Joyce Beatrice Giles

Joyce Giles was born on February 12, 1932 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the late Marie Fore Duncan Hager and James Hager. Joyce went to be with the Lord our Savior on April 11, 2020 in Ardmore. Joyce was preceded in death by her four brothers, James Hager, Donald Hager, John Hager and Tommy Hager and her son, Gregory Giles. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul Wesley Giles; two children, Larry (Catherine) Giles of Tennessee and Marquetta (Richard) Austin of Arkansas; five loving grandchildren, Teresa Johnson, Jeremy Giles, Kevin Giles, Jonell (Tim) Hastings and Christopher Austin; eight great grandchildren, Alyssa Hastings, Austin Hastings, Paul Giles, Ryan Tanner, Kyle McClure, Chase Johnson and Cloe Johnson.

Joyce was a member of the McLish Avenue Church of Christ in Ardmore and loved her church family and friends. Joyce was a homemaker and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. You could find her wherever her husband went from a hunting trip to the river banks.  Joyce loved to go camping and made many friends at the campgrounds. She never met a stranger. If someone needed help, she was always there.  Joyce never forgot any of her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren’s birthdays.  If you brought a friend home for dinner, she always made them welcome and had an extra plate on the table. Joyce loved her lord and gave her love to all.

A graveside service will be held at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery in Cherokee officiated by Bob Smee of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Joyce will be laid to rest beside her son, Gregory Giles.
