John Eugene Lamle was born July 14, 1931 in Aline, Oklahoma to Herbert and Almira Lamle. He was welcomed into heaven by the Almighty Lord on July 9, 2022. John lived in Aline his entire life with the exception of his time served in the military. John graduated from Aline High School in 1949 and married Lola Jean (Jack) Lamle on April 25, 1952. They were married 68 years before Lola went home to be with her Savior. Together they raised five children, while farming and raising cattle. They were members of the Aline United Methodist Church. He and Lola were faithful prayer warriors for their family. John served in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War, served in the Army Reserves in Colorado Springs, and served as a firefighter for the United States Air Force at Vance Air Force Base.
After returning from his service in the army, he worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 42 years before retiring to focus solely on his farming and cattle operation. John loved Aline and loved serving Veterans. He tirelessly worked to bring the Aline Veterans Memorial to fruition. He also served as President of the board of the Aline Star Cemetery and was a member of the American Legion.
John was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He loved family gatherings and truly enjoyed his grandkids. He also loved animals, farming, watching and laughing hysterically at the movie Home Alone and could eat a pound of bacon if Lola would let him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Almira Lamle; his sister, Juanita “Elaine” Sturgeon; grandson, Jeremy Nelson; great grandson, Rowdy Lingo, and son-in-law, Gerald Hill.
He is survived by his five children, Jed (Wanda) Lamle, Jim Lamle, Cindy (Greg) Nelson, Walter (Shelley) Lamle, and Nita (Craig Dickinson) Hill; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
John loved the Lord. So, as we will miss him, we rejoice in the fact that he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
