John Dewayne Johnston

John Dewayne Johnston went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2019 in Enid.  He was born on September 10, 1949 in Elk City.  Growing up in western Oklahoma, he was baptized in April 1966 at the First Baptist Church of Sayre and graduated from Berlin High School May 17, 1968.  Later in life, he moved to Oklahoma City and accepted a job at NuWay Commercial Laundry as a mechanical engineer.  He left Nuway’s employment in 2000 and later became disabled in 2001.  In January 2004 he and his wife, Linda, moved to Helena which was his residence upon his passing.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Oscar “Shorty” Johnston on November 1, 1996; his mother, Bobbie Jo Titsworth Johnston on September 26, 1994 and one baby brother, Urban Carl Johnston on August 25, 1947.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Linda Parker Johnston; his daughter, Melinda Adams and husband, Jay of Mustang; two sons, Carl Johnston and wife, Patti of Sayre and Jody Johnston and wife, Melissa of Sayre; one sister, Eileen Musick and husband, Steve of Cheyenne; one brother, Marlin Johnston and wife, Peggy of Sayre; grandchildren, Tyler and Kayla Adams of Mustang, Allison May and husband, Cole of Weatherford, Karly Johnston of Oklahoma City, Aubbri Johnston of Sayre and Levi Lewis of Sayre; great grandchildren, Ellington and Addilyn of Weatherford; niece, Sawyer Johnston of Sayre; nephew, Sterling Schmidt of Helena, Montana and numerous friends and family.
