Jerry Bierig
June 2, 1944 — January 24, 2015
Okeene-Funeral service for Jerry Bierig, 70, will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Okeene with Pastor Russ Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Bierig Cemetery. There will be viewing Tuesday 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. at the funeral home and then before and after the service at the church.
Jerry was born June 2, 1944 at Okeene, the son of Harvey Lee Bierig and Cleora Greb Bierig and passed from this life on January 24, 2014. Jerry had lived his lifetime in Okeene where he farmed and drove a truck. He was active in Okeene First Christian Church where he was an Elder and served on the Church Board with distinction. He was a very loving and giving man, one who was always available to help someone in need. He enjoyed tinkering and building things. Jerry was a huge OU football fan. He had served a six year enlistment in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
Those who have preceded Jerry in death are his parents, Harvey and Cleora Bierig and his grandparents, Henry, Sr. and Katie Bierig and Ezra and Clara Greb.
Those who survive are his daughter, Shannon Moore; two grandchildren, Kearsten and Kolten Moore; Nancy Scott; one sister, Cheryl Coons and husband, Duncan; his Schnauzer pal and buddy, Rascal Lee; many other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to SPCA of Enid through the funeral home.
