MEDICINE LODGE-James Dene Bell, passed away on July 17, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Bible Fellowship Church in Medicine Lodge. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 19, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
James was born on January 3, 1932 at Medicine Lodge to Charles Edward Bell and Margaret Watson Bell. He graduated from Medicine Lodge High School in 1950. On September 14, 1975 he and Carle Lavada Singletery were united in marriage in Brownfield, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He attended a tech/radio school in Omaha, Nebraska. James worked as a farmer/rancher; he had worked in the Federal Aviation Administration as a radar installation tech and was a master photographer. He retired from work in 1981. He attended the Community Bible Fellowship Church, was a member of the Lion’s Club, Harper County Square Dancers, Lifetime member of the Texas Lion’s Camp, Past Director, was the founder of the Texas Association of Single Square Dancers and served as President of the Square Dancers USA from 1974-1975.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Miller and a grandson, Chad Neill.
He is survived by his wife, Carle Lavada Bell; three children, Ralph Nolan Bell and wife, Dalyn, James Hubert Bell and wife, Kim, Vickie Neill and husband, Jerry, Beckie Linders and husband, Al; one brother, Frank Gene Bell; one sister, Virginia Black; one aunt, Ella Bell; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
