Iva Nusz

Iva Laverne Hoffman Nusz was born May 10, 1918 near Okeene to John and Hannah Nusz Hoffman and departed this life September 30, 2021.

Iva lived all her life in Blaine County until she moved to Spanish Cove in Yukon.  She attended Arapaho and Madel country schools and Hitchcock High School. December 23, 1936 she married Henry Nusz. They were married 66 years and he passed away April 19, 2003. They farmed and ranched in the Okeene area until 1975 when they moved to Watonga. Iva was a member of First United Methodist Church of Watonga and a member of United Methodist Women.  She worked as a Sales Representative for Avon Products for more than 35 years.

Iva is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; daughter, Marietta Nusz Brown; sons, Dr. Lawayne Nusz and wife, Susan and Lonnie Nusz and wife, Donna; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Johnnietta Dugger, Lilyetta Hoffman, and Dorothy Haley; brothers Leon, Irvin, Junior, Billy and James.

Those who remain to celebrate her life are her son-in-law, Kenneth Brown and wife, Kay; eight grandchildren, Kathryn Wuerflein and husband, James of Kremlin, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Washbourne and husband, Steve of Oklahoma City, Angela Sholar and husband, Bret of Oklahoma City, Lara Hicok and husband, Matthew of Ames, Iowa, Eileen Canafax and husband, Eric of Ames, Iowa, Donnie Nusz and wife, Yvette of Yukon, Oklahoma, David Nusz and wife, Marievic of Arnegard of North Dakota, Lisa Boser and husband, Durand of Yukon, Oklahoma as well as twenty-five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Watonga with Rev. Dianna Matli officiating. Burial will follow in the Peaceful Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
