Helen Closson-Smith, age 91, of Shell Knob, Missouri went peacefully with the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Helen was born in 1930 to William and Marietta (Crittenden) Marsh.
Helen attended the Community of Christ Church in Berryville, Arkansas where she also served as an ordained minister. Helen taught High School Home Economics over a span of forty years in the states of Iowa and Illinois. In retirement she was devoted to feeding those in need in Carroll County, Arkansas by serving as the intake person for the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank in Berryville.
Helen is survived by her husband, Lieu R. Smith of Shell Knob, Missouri; daughters, Susan Jane Schneider of Belleville, Illinois and Julie Ann Hoffman and her husband, Warren of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; brothers, John Marsh and his wife, Marie of Pleasantville, Iowa and William Marsh of Independence, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marietta Marsh, and her sister, Kathryn DelVecchio.
The graveside service for Helen will be on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
