Frieda Neufeld

Medford-Memorial service for Frieda Ruth Neufeld, 88, will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at Golden Oaks Chapel in Enid. Private family burial will be at Mennonite Cemetery north of Medford.

Frieda was born on May 18, 1924 in Helena to Abe A. Smith and Susie Thomas Smith and passed from this life on May 2, 2013 in Enid. She graduated from Helena High School. Frieda married Harry Neufeld on March 12, 1944 at the West New Hopedale Mennonite Church north of Ringwood. Frieda was a partner in their farming operation and also worked in the ASCS office in Medford, measuring wheat fields. Harry and Frieda farmed in the Medford area, moving to Enid in 1977. Frieda loved quilting and was a member of the Friendship Quilters.

Those who preceded Frieda in death include her parents; her sister, Esther Decker and her brother, Herman Smith and half sister, Nettie.

Survivors include her husband, Harry; two children, Verlyn Neufeld and wife, Cheri of Shawnee, Kansas and Betty Ensz and husband, Larry of Edmond; seven grandchildren, Eric Ensz and wife, Sonia of Oklahoma City, Karen Lohman and husband, Todd of Shawnee, Kansas, Chad Ensz of Tulsa, Nathan Ensz of Lawrence, Kansas, Sara Boor of Edmond, Jennifer Shinabarger and husband, Mark of Merriam, Kansas and Kate Madrigal and husband, Richard of Kansas City, Kansas; seven great grandchildren, Catarina Ensz of Oklahoma City, Maria Ensz of Oklahoma City, Grace Lohman of Shawnee, Kansas, Nick Lohman of Shawnee, Kansas, R. J. Madrigal of Kansas City, Kansas, Saber Boor of Edmond and Natalie Shinabarger of Merriam, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to Oklahoma Bible Academy of Enid through the funeral home.
