WICHITA-Formerly of Kiowa, Eula Vieira Conrad, 82, passed away on June 30, 2014 in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kiowa United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.
Eula was born to Herval Christo and Luzia Vieira on August 20, 1931 in Cascatinha, Brazil. She met Melvin when he went to Brazil to serve as a Methodist missionary. They married and came back to the United States in 1954. Eula taught 3rd and 4th grades for many years in Oxford, Georgia and Kirksville, Missouri. She was active in the United Methodist church wherever she lived, sang in the choir and served as United Methodist Women's President for several years at Kiowa United Methodist Church. She was also a talented quilter with "The Quilters" group winning a" Best in Show" ribbon at the Barber County Fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Melvin L. Conrad and children Albert Conrad (Michael) of Wichita, Kansas, Celia Theiler of Charlotte, North Carolina and Daniel Conrad (Lauree) of Cary, North Carolina. She is also survived by brother Enio Vieira of Brazil; grandchildren, Christopher Theiler, Matthew Conrad, Gregory Conrad and great granddaughter; Lucy Theiler. She was also loved by nieces and nephews; Aline Grant, Annette Waisner, Brenda Dirks, Randy Conrad, Foster Coburn, and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins both in the United States and Brazil.
