E.T. (Herman) Cordova was born to Manuel and Adelida (Ida) Cordova on January 15, 1936 in Belin, New Mexico, and passed from this life on December 19, 2021 in Kiowa at the age of 85. They moved to Barstow, California in 1951. At the age of 18 in 1954 Herman became a laborer for the Santa Fe Railroad, where he moved up from laborer to painter. He married Carmen Baca in 1955. They began a family having six children together. In 1970 Herman met Dottie Reed, and they spent 43 years together before Dottie passed in October 2013.
Herman is survived by six children, Gilroy Cordova of Barstow, California, David Cordova of Barstow, California, Barney Cordova (Jamie) of Apple Valley, California, Lorella Garcia (Oscar) of Apple Valley, California, Clifford Cordova (Bertha) of San Bernadino, California, Jerry Cordova (Angela) of Silverlakes, California; thirteen grandchildren, B. Yvette Cordova-Cambron, Arthur Cordova, Deanna Garcia, Katrina Espinoza, Angelina Rivera, Darlene Cordova, David Cordova, Jr., Rosalinda Gibson-Cordova, Juliana Cordova, Jannell Cordova, Jarrod Cordova, Jerrica Cordova, and Jessica Johannsen, as well as seventeen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Wakita with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers and cards, memorial donations may be made to Kiowa District Hospital Manor in Kiowa or Heartland Hospice in Wichita through the funeral home.
