On September 7, 1919 Dwain Frederick Bonham was born at the Bonham home place southwest of the town of Helena. His parents were Frederick Isaac Bonham and Marion Pennington Bonham. He attended a small country school. He went to California in 1937-1938 and stayed with his brother, Adron, where he attended flight training school. In 1938 he returned home and graduated in 1939 from Helena High School. On January 25, 1941 he married his high school "sweetheart," Evelyn Marie Wagner.

He served his country well and spent many years of his life training young men in aeronautical engineering government programs in Enid, Oklahoma. He also worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. In 1942 World War II started and he entered the U. S. Army, 34th Air Service Squadron, where he was stationed four years in Puerto Rico. In 1946 when the war ended he returned home to his wife and family. They came home to the Bonham home place, where they started their family with a son, Gary in 1947 and a daughter, Linda in 1950. In 1946 he joined the United Methodist Church and was baptized. He was also a member of the American Legion and American Agriculture Association.

He loved his wife, son and daughter dearly. He enjoyed the time making memories with his family. He was very close to his two nephews, Larry Bonham and Gerald Bonham, when they came to Oklahoma to live at an early age.

He took great pride in his farm and cattle operations. He truly enjoyed life to the fullest and on May 19, 2016 he went to his heavenly home to be with the love of his life, his wife, Evelyn, his son, Gary, three sisters, Mildred Zahl, Dorothy Webb and Margaret Bonham and one brother, Adron Bonham and most of all, his Lord.
