Doris Mae Tarrant Jenlink

Doris was born on November 17, 1924, to Pearl Tarrant and Ada Hall Tarrant. She went to see her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 25, 2025 at 100 years and 69 days.

Doris grew up on a farm southeast of Jet. She was her Daddy's boy and loved the outdoors. Her family lived through the Great Depression, moving to the California for a time to find work. They returned to Jet, and she attended Jet Schools. In her high school years, she loved playing basketball and earned the nickname "Tiny" for her size and quickness. She graduated from Jet High School with the famous class of 1942. On September 7, 1942 she married her high school sweetheart, Forrest Jenlink. The union lasted 72 years when Forrest went to heaven. To this union were born two children, Carolyn Joyce Allen and Ronald Jenlink. After Forrest passed in May of 2014, she continued to live on the farm and continued wanting to help and be of service.

Doris was always a supportive farm wife doing whatever was needed to help and do her part, whether that was helping with cattle or driving a tractor. Her most famous job was cooking. She made the best homemade rolls and coconut meringue pie and if taken to a gathering, everyone fought over the last roll or the last piece of pie. She would cook full spreads and take them to the harvest field in the trunk of her car for the noon meal. After taking the noon meal, she would then make fried chicken or sandwiches to take to the crew in Cheer detergent boxes for their supper. In addition, she would deliver cakes, pies, and meals to anyone who might be in need and anyone God laid on her heart to reach out to.

She was a member of the Jet Methodist Church and a 70+ year member of the Jet Industrious Club. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for herself and children and grandchildren and winning awards at the County Fair through the years. She was a gifted artist which she developed into a surprising gallery of wonderful paintings.

Her father, Pearl; mother, Ada; husband, Forrest; sister, Evelyn Greene and husband, Leon are all overjoyed to receive her into her eternal reward in heaven.

She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Allen of Dallas, Texas; son, Ron Jenlink and wife, Suzanne of Jet, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kevin Hartman and wife, Diana, Melanie Key and husband, Tandy, Jeff Jenlink, Jay Jenlink, and wife, Stephanie, Jaime Hays and husband, Tim, Jason Jenlink and wife, Melissa, Joy Frye and husband, Mark, Beth Acre and husband, Charlie and David Holderby and wife, Gwyn as well as twenty great-grandchildren.
