Donovan “Don” Gerald Wiens was born in Frazer, Montana on September 6, 1936 to Peter and Hulda Ensz Wiens and passed from this life in Lahoma on August 7, 2021. In November of 1936 they moved to Oklahoma living in Drummond, Carrier and settling in Lahoma.
Don graduated from Lahoma High School in 1955. He then joined the U.S. Navy sailing the Pacific. After serving his country, he returned to Lahoma going to work for Dolese Cement Company.
In 1965 he married Elnora Waldron. Together they raised three sons, a big garden and owned The Corner Bar. Don retired from Dolese Brothers in 2003 after 43 years of service. In March of 2014 Don married JaNet Rowe.
Don is survived by his wife, JaNet Rowe of Lahoma; three sons, Bert and wife, Sandra of Lahoma, Michael “Mike” and wife, Lea of Richland Hills, Texas and Lee of Ramah, New Mexico; step-children, Earlene Gardner, Dean Rowe and wife, Linda, Yolanda Rowe and step-son-in-law, David Wedel; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; step-daughter, Cyndi Wedel.
Graveside service for Don will be Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
In lieu of flowers Don’s family requests donations be made to the VFW through the funeral home.
