Dessa Heinze

November 19, 1922 — September 12, 2015

Okeene-Memorial service for Dessa Mae Heinze will be Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Okeene United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Harrison officiating. A private family burial will have taken place prior to this service. Viewing will be Monday 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene.

Dessa Mae Westfahl Heinze was born November 19, 1922 at Okeene, the daughter of L. C. Westfahl and Callie Lee Thurman Westfahl. She passed from this life on September 12, 2015. She attended Fairview Country School, Liberty School and graduated from Homestead High School. She and Reuben Heinze were married in Okeene on November 21, 1940. Dessa Mae spent most of her lifetime living in the Okeene area being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was very involved in her community as a Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Club leader, officer in band boosters, class mother for Darlene, Charlotte and Kimberly. She was a member of Okeene United Methodist Church where she was a bible school teacher, a Sunday School teacher, sang in the church choir and was President of the Women's Guild.

Those who have preceded her in death are her husband, Reuben; her mother and father; four sisters and four brothers.

Those who survive to cherish her memory are her children, Darlene Ann Reynolds, Charlotte Mae Billings and Kimberly Dawn Bauman; five sisters; one brother; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Okeene United Methodist Church or Okeene Library through the funeral home.
