Carmen-Funeral service for Dennis Lee Newman will be Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dacoma Gym with Rev. John Bizzell officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery near Dacoma. Viewing will be Monday 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Dennis Lee Newman early in the morning of March 20, 2014. Dennis was born in Blackwell on October 4, 1957, the son of Harold Newman and Evelyn Briggs Newman. He came to Dacoma in 1964 and lived in Carmen-Dacoma area most of his life. He was an exceptionally outgoing person with an infectious laugh and positive outlook on life. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and poured his heart into his work. He started working in his teenage years and was driving a truck before he started working at the Carmen Coop in the late 1980's. In 1990 he moved to the Dacoma Coop and was working in Dacoma at the time of his passing. In all he worked for Carmen-Dacoma Coops for twenty-nine years. All came to know that if you wanted a job done right, and on time, Dennis Newman was your man. Dennis was never afraid to drop anything he was doing to assist a friend in need and he always found time to share knowledge with those around him. Over the years Dennis blessed us with many gifts and cherished moments. From laughs on the back porch and Christmas mornings to a daughter's first child or a son's first deer, perhaps the greatest gift he has given us all will remain long after his passing. That great gift is that he provided us with an example of how to live our lives as a parent, grandparent, son or daughter and as a friend. Although he will be sorely missed, we will take solace in the knowledge that he is in a better place and that he will continue to share moments with us from above.
Dennis leaves behind his stepfather and mother, Don and Evelyn Newman; daughter, Stacey Frazier and husband, Austin and granddaughter, Alaina, daughter, Brittney Federko and husband, Greg and son, Dylan Newman; brothers, Robbie Newman and wife, Jenell and Jimmy Newman; sister, Joyce Newman; step-brother, Donnie Newman and wife, Becky as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Harold Newman and his sister, Donna White.
Memorials may be made to Carmen Fire Department or Oklahoma Medical Research, Cancer Division through the funeral home.
