Helena-Graveside service for Delee Shepherd will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Mound Valley Cemetery at Thomas. Viewing will be Friday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Helena.
Delee was born May 26, 1931 at Thomas, the son of Dale Shepherd and Dorcas Wiseman Shepherd and passed from this life August 5, 2015 at his home in Helena. He and Jean Zerby were married June 14, 1953 in Independence, Oklahoma. Delee was a college graduate and was a retired school teacher and principal. He was also a custom harvester. He had moved to Helena in 1965 from Freedom. He had been a Lions Club member since moving to Helena in 1965. He loved fishing, hunting and his family.
Delee is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; an infant son; a sister, Sheila and his parents.
His survivors include his children, Steve Shepherd and wife, Jackie of Onida, South Dakota, Sheila Byrd and husband, Doug of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Sheree Case and husband, Truman of Whitesboro, Texas, Shawn Shepherd and wife, Daisy of Helena, Oklahoma; one brother, Galen Shepherd and wife, Gayle; one sister, Verlane Zerby and husband, John; seven grandchildren, A. J. Adkisson and wife, Jamie, Shane Shepherd, Caleb Shepherd and wife, Katie, Sheridan Byrd, Baleigh White, Baxter White, Paisley Shepherd; two great-grandchildren, Jase and Jadon Adkisson.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
