Delbert Wesley Boehm, Jr.

February 20, 1948 — April 29, 2024

Stillwater, formerly Jet

Delbert Wesley Boehm Jr, referred to as Junior by friends and family, and “Delby” by his grandkids, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, April 29th, 2024 at the age of 76.

Junior was born on February 20th, 1948 in Enid, Ok to Delbert Sr and Charlene Boehm. Growing up on a farm outside of Nash, OK, he spent his younger years helping out with chores around the farm, pestering his younger sister, and playing sports in school. He was a good athlete and loved playing baseball, basketball and was also an avid pool player. After graduating high school, Jr went on to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, where he obtained his teaching degree and according to him, enjoyed many wild times and went through several cars.

Jr spent most of his adult life working in Enid, OK at various factories until assuming the position of Shelter Director at Youth and Family Services. He was well liked and took great pride in his career up until he retired in 2019. He never strayed too far from home as he made his residence just down the road from the family farm. In 1973, Jr married Janelle Myers of Nash and a few years later, Candi, his oldest daughter was born. Delbert married a second time in 1982, to Terri Ferris of Enid and together they had two children, Cara and Gage.

Delbert made many friendships throughout the years and rarely met a stranger, partly due to his kind personality, partly due to always having a joke ready to tell to get a conversation started, and partly due to his infectious laugh.

He loved his kids and especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren as they brought him lots of joy and he thought they were “pretty cool”. He was a diehard Sooners fan and was always optimistic that the next season was going to be the big one. Jr spent the last few years of his life in the Cushing/Stillwater area, cared for by his oldest daughter and grandchildren. It was time blessed where stories were told, laughs shared, relationships strengthened, and it was also during this time where his faith and love for the Lord Jesus was renewed. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Delbert is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Wesley Boehm and Charlene Jett Trimble Boehm, and his son, Gage Wesley Boehm. He is survived by his wife, Teri Genea Boehm of Tulsa, daughter Candi June Bugg of Stillwater and her children Evyn Marie, Avery Jett and Ethan Wesley Bonine, daughter Cara Genea Cash of Tulsa, and her daughter Dayden Genea Martin, grandson, Jayson Boehm of Fairview and sisters Jackie Durante of Medford and Peggy Lawrence of Wellington, Ks.
