Byron-Services for Vernon "Dale" Graham (Crazy Bohunk) will be held Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Lanman Funeral Home Chapel of Cherokee. Viewing will be Wednesday, September 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present.
Vernon Dale Graham was born in Cherokee on January 14, 1931 to Eugene and Oletta Gass Graham and passed from this life on September 14, 2015 in Enid at the age of 84. He graduated from Byron High School with the class of 1948. He was married to Peggy Milene Stover on October 21, 1951 and five children were born to that union. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He devoted most of his life to the farming and cattle business which he dearly loved. In 1986 he started hauling hay to Texas, but still managed to farm and have a cow and calf operation. Due to health problems he had to retire in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Glenn who was killed in the Korean War.
Dale is survived by his five children, Cathy Jean Wessels and husband, Ronnie, Kenneth Joe Graham, Aleca Kay Wangelin, Terry Glenn Graham and wife, Cathy and Ricky Dale Graham and wife, Donna; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great grandson; brother, Elvin Graham and wife, Dorothy; sister, Phyllis Clark and husband, Tom; seven step children and a host of relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to Byron-Amorita Cemetery through the funeral home.
