Correl Lester (C.L.) Morris – 86, passed away February 11th 2022 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, February 14th from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM with family present 5-7 PM and Tuesday, February 15th from 9 AM-12 PM at Lanman Funeral Home, 309 E 4th St. in Helena, Oklahoma. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, February 15th at 1:00 PM at Square Cedar Cemetery near Cleo Springs.

Correl was born December 2nd 1935 to Harrison and Pauline (Carriker) Morris in Hardtner, Kansas. He completed school through 8th grade before starting work with his father farming. Later Correl lived in several different towns including Hardtner, Enid, Wichita, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Pawhuska, Lawton and Wynona. While living in these towns, he worked hard at various jobs such as building cabinets, flooring, carpenter work along with hotel and laundry mat maintenance and limo and school bus driving. He also spent several years driving bobtail trucks hauling oil and saltwater.

Correl loved laughter, playing jokes on his sisters and friends. He always had toys for his kids and grandkids to play with and enjoy. He also enjoyed square dancing with friends. Horses were a passion of Correl’s. He was especially fond of the more stubborn ones, taking extra time and care to break them. He also enjoyed traveling with his sister.

While living in Wichita, Kansas, he met Jean Moore. They were joined together in marriage September 1st 1961 there in Wichita, Kansas. Out of this union came five wonderful children, Corrella, Brenda, Edia, Jason and Charles. The children were the light of his life. He taught his children that Christ comes first, family is important, to always work hard and that education is key.

He is survived by two sons, Jason and wife, Carrie of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, Charles and wife, Jennifer of Duncan, Oklahoma; three daughters, Corrella Elroy of Rush Springs, Brenda and husband, Fred Ratliff of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Edia and husband, Donde Killgore of Marlow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Denise and Josh Metzger, Ashley and Robbie Sullivan, Justin and Mandy Elroy, Kody and Lareda Killgore, Jarrod and Jennifer Elroy, Victoria and Emily Morris, and thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Morris of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Veloris Hoy of Wichita, Kansas, Arnell Evans of Yukon, Oklahoma;  many nephews and nieces.

Correl is preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Pauline (Carriker) Morris; two sisters, Avon Gilchrist, Leona Snyder, and granddaughter, Trudy Ratliff.

Pallbearers: Jason Morris, Charles Morris, Fred Ratliff, Donde Killgore, Justin Elroy, Jarrod Elroy, Kody Killgore and Kade Sullivan.

He Will Truly Be Missed!

Directions to Square Cedar Cemetery:  From junction of highway 412 and 58 at Ringwood, proceed 7  miles west then turn right on county road NS 260.  Continue north 3 ½ miles to reach the cemetery.
